The start of a minibook addiction ...

I love that I can turn to my craft as therapy in my hectic life, and use that to put things back into perspective. And I love that I am giving the people that really matter a tangible piece of my handmade artwork to mark a special occasion, not just a memory which might fade.

In the past I've always made cards. They're easy to make and don't require much effort. Then I ventured into scrapbooking and my current craze at the moment is minibooks. I'm so addicted to them because they're so cute, just like a mini storybook. (And yes, I do love books too!).

As my friend HL was about to leave for Sydney last year, I found a reason to make one for her. I centered this minibook on an "If it weren't for you" theme, meant as a tribute to my friend and as an appreciation for our friendship all these years.

Full package, all ready to go! This is an organza bag that I bought, which comes with a satin cord to keep the minibook in.
I used a chipboard scallop-shaped base and a ring holder to hold everything together, embellishing with flowers and ribbons.
Pages 2&3; IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOU - the main theme of my minibook.
Pages 4&5; My dear friend, is after all, one of a kind. Here I decorated the page with plastic flowers and punched-out butterflies.
Pages 6&7; My thoughts.
Pages 8&9; A personalized message from yours truly.
Pages 10&11; And of course, some random advice for a friend who is moving far far away.
Pages 12; The saying goes that behind every successful woman stands a substantial amount of coffee :D Anyone disagrees? Hehe.

More minibooks to come soon!
