When I think of Canada, the first things that come to my mind are maple leaves, the Canadian mounties, and beavers! You know the beavers in cartoons - the ones that bites the base of the tree and causes it to fell, with someone in the background screaming and running for his life towards safety?
So that's my inspiration for someone who lives in Canada. Pretty corny, isn't it. :p
This year's card is inspired by beavers and polaroid (because I really want one for myself). I drew a beaver popping out from a polaroid photo carrying a bunch of balloons. The aim of this was so that when Carrie opens the envelope and pulls the card out, beaver will just pop up just like he's saying SURPRISE! :)
I know it's a little bit childish but I wanted something fun instead of the serious, nostalgic ones that I have created in the past.
And since the polaroid on the front cover turned out so nicely, I decided on more of them on the inside. The runaway balloon seemed to blend in very well against the backdrop of polaroids. The blue depicts the cloudless sky, in case you wonder. I am a genius! LOL. :p
